My favorite go-to Office Makeup Look
The title says it all. I want to share with you ladies my favorite professional/office makeup look. I’m a corporate office employee and although we are not required to wear formal office attire, we are still expected to look polished and professional. On occasion we are required to wear suits and ties and the whole nine yards. However, for me personally, I have a belief that you should always dress like your next promotion or job title. I like to dress and look that part every day, even if it’s not required, because this also helps put me in the correct frame of mind and I truly believe it helps me be more focused. That’s my two cents on that.
Regardless of what you are wearing, or what the dress code is, in the professional world you should always look your best. This office makeup look has become my favorite because it defines and brings out all your best features, gives you a clean, glowy complexion and just the right amount of color to the lips and face without looking overdone.
As you can see, I do not use any bright colors, including my lips. My favorite lip color and the one I have on here is ELF Cosmetics Moisturizing Lipstick in Pink Minx. It totally gives it just the perfect dewy look and pop of color to still look natural. And it’s seriously a whole $3. Yep, you read right, THREE BUCKS! I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, you do NOT need to buy high end lipsticks. Save that cash and invest in an amazing foundation and a rich eyeshadow palette.
Speaking of eyeshadow, I do love me a good smoky eye, no doubt. One of my most recent and best investments has been the Lorac Pro Palette. It’s a comprehensive eye shadow palette with pretty much every neutral color you would ever need. Not just that, but a little product goes a long ways. Those are my favorite eyeshadows. The ones that are rich and smooth, and you don’t need to tap your eyes to death trying to achieve that ideal look, or for it to just show up.
Also, I don’t do my eyeliner so far out for this look. I do it right to the end of my eye and a hair more, but never enough to call attention to it. There’s a time and a place for that :).
For my complexion, I love and swear by my Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation and powder. I add some highlight and contour powder from my Lorac Pro Contour Palette, then a soft peachy blush and that’s it! I highly recommend the one I’m currently using by Model Co. Awesome quality and it’s just $11 and some change. Click here to take a look.
Important note: Whatever products you choose for your face doesn’t matter as much as how well you BLEND them!! A woman walking into the office with blotchy foundation or lines where your makeup ends and begins does not impress anyone, including your managers. Pay attention to these details, it says more about you than you realize.
I hope you enjoyed reading about my favorite office makeup routine I wear pretty much every day. Why fix it if it’s not broken right?
